School told to remove painting of praying children or face legal action though school officials insist that no specific religion or message is promoted through the print that has hung in Kenneth Cooper Middle School for more than 18 years, the atheistic organization based in Madison, Wisconsin, is ordering them to take the painting down or face legal action. The print in question shows a young boy and girl reverently praying with the Stars and Stripes as a patriotic backdrop. The district’s attorney argues that in no way, shape or form does this artist’s rendition constitute the endorsement of any type of religion, as he made clear in his response to the demand letter issued by FFRF’s Seidel.
